Worship

We like to sing to God every time we gather.  Each week, a band plays four to five songs chosen from eclectic traditions, including rock, folk, gospel and hymns.  A worship leader invites everybody to sing along, and most do.

During our 20 minutes of musical worship, some people describe having experiences of deep peace, or prayerful dialogue with God, or rushes of emotion (whether joyful or sad), or intense battling against distractions.  For others it is simply a time to enjoy pleasant music and meditate on God’s goodness and nearness.  Some may physically express their praise through raised hands, movement, and loud singing & shouts; others are still and quiet.  There is no pressure on you either way!

As an ancient mystic put it, the one who sings “prays twice."  Regardless of your religious background, we invite you to thank God for his gifts, ask God for help, and enjoy Him and the impromptu choir around you as we “pray twice” together.
