PZF TEENS

HELLO FROM TEEN PASTOR DAVID LINHART--

If you're between 11 and 18 years old, in the Greater Boston Area, and interested in a Sunday morning scene that's spiritual, practical AND fun, then we would love to have you join us at a PZF Teens worship service! In coming together, we have great expectations of God giving us lots to pray through and try out. But if there's one take home that counts every time, it's the sure fact that God is bringing us into better stories than any we can live without him. We are talking about leaving behind whatever holds us back and stepping into a big, open life of freedom in Jesus' name!

In addition to the regular Sunday morning programming described below, we would love to welcome you to a PZF SMALL GROUP or an event on our EVENTS CALENDAR. Read on!

WHAT DOES PZF MEAN?

And if you're a parent reading this intro, then you should know that PZF Teens is not just for the teens! It's for everyone involved to press into what God has in store, including families of teens. There are many different arrangements that count as family, whether it's a dad and mom and 2.5 kids, or caretakers and orphans of many different backgrounds. Whatever it looks like, it's certain that God prepares a "house" for each teen to be a part of, and we don't want to replace the relationships that God intends for a house to provide. Instead, we want to support and inform those relationships, and to help parents/guardians revisit their own teen years with a new lens through parenting. The teen ministry can relate to both teens and parents/guardians, helping each "side" to understand that there aren't really sides here--we are a team.

WORSHIP SERVICE: GET YOUR NEW HEART
From teachings on how Jesus shows up in our lives to thinking together about the Bible, we want to be a part of bringing depth to your relationship with the living God. This maturity awakens the things God has put in our hearts to care about deeply, and we become encouragers to anyone whose passion is being tested by the hurts and disappointments of life. We also become able to receive the ways God encourages us, which may not be the ways we encourage ourselves, but which have more power to make regular risk-takers out of us.

It empowers us to be in touch with the fact that there is nothing cheap or everyday about this God who loves and works for us. Lifting up his name in song and prayer drives that home in our hearts. Worship is a special gift to God that says, "You are my favorite! I love you the most! Nothing comes before you in my life!" At the same time, worship allows us to bring ALL of our emotions before God, including anger and frustration, instead of wrestling with them on our own. God receives our broken hearts, if we let him, and he renews us with comfort and encouragement.

WHAT DOES IT LOOK LIKE?

We meet Sundays, both at the CAMBRIDGE site from 9:30 to 11AM on the Greater Boston Vineyard campus, in the Ministry Center basement, AND at the BOSTON site from 10:30 to NOON on the 4th floor of the Benjamin Franklin Institute of Technology. Choose which ever site is more convenient to attend, you'll still be part of the same ministry. Need directions?

STORYBOARD: GET YOUR STORY OUT
There is a story in the Bible about King David dancing his clothes off in the streets of Jerusalem, overjoyed because he finally received the crown in his thirties after being promised it in his teens. Let's just say, he drew a lot of attention to himself! BUT the whole episode was actually God putting a godly life on display, showing off the freedom and fulfillment God has for someone who says YES to God's help. Come tell your own story, surprising and important, and leave behind the security blanket of a pre-packaged story that fits into other people's expectations.

Storyboard is an opportunity to learn how to tell your own story through art, film, dance and other expressions. Each workshop series runs 2-3 months and is led by guest artists, culminating in a final presentation for the community. The pilot series was a photoessay project that was shown in the chapel and is now installed in the Campus Ministry Center Basement. The current workshop series for Spring/Summer to check out is photography, at the CAMBRIDGE site. NOTE: BOSTON site Storyboard is in the works! We meet Sundays for photography at the CAMBRIDGE site from 11:30AM to 1PM on the Greater Boston Vineyard campus.
