Driving Directions
From the West on the Mass Turnpike: Take the Mass Turnpike to Boston. Take exit 22 at Copley Square. Bear right on exit ramp to street level. Turn right at first intersection (Dartmouth Street). Go to the first light at Dartmouth Street and Columbus Street. Go through light and take second left onto Appleton Street. We are on the corner of Appleton and Berkeley.
From the West on Storrow Drive East: Take Storrow Drive (East) to the Copley exit. Follow Clarendon Street to Appleton Street (4 streets after you pass over the Mass Turnpike) and turn left on Appleton Street. As you approach East Berkeley Street you will see the school across the intersection on your right.
From the South: Take Route 93 north to the Storrow Drive (West) exit. Follow Storrow Drive to the Copley exit. Take the Copley exit and turn right on Beacon Street. Take Beacon Street one block to Clarendon Street. Turn left onto Clarendon. Continue on Clarendon Street to Appleton Street. Turn left on Appleton Street. As you approach East Berkeley Street you will see the school across the intersection on your right.
From Roxbury/Jamaica Plain: Take Columbus Ave. and continue on Tremont Street (Columbus Ave turns into Tremont Street at Melnea Cass Blvd). Take a left on East Berkeley Street. You will see the school on your right.
From the North: Take 93 South to the Storrow Drive (West) exit. Follow Storrow Drive to the Copley exit. Take the Copley exit and turn right on Beacon Street. Take Beacon Street one block to Clarendon Street. Turn left onto Clarendon. Continue on Clarendon Street to Appleton Street. Turn left on Appleton Street. As you approach East Berkeley Street you will see the school across the intersection on your right.
Parking - Please keep in mind that BFIT does not have off-street parking. There is quite a lot of metered parking (free on Sunday) and some visitor parking in the surrounding blocks. On Sundays there tends to be a lot of street parking available. See Map notations on reverse side that indicate where street parking is available. DO NOT PARK on the streets in areas marked “South End Resident Only parking”. You will be ticketed even on Sunday. Parking is available on Columbus Avenue, Tremont Street, Shawmut Avenue, and Paul Place.
Public Transportation
MBTA Orange Line: Take the Orange Line to Back Bay Station. Watch for Back Bay Station signs directing you to Clarendon Street exit. Turn right on Clarendon Street. Walk to Appleton Street and take a left. Walk to the corner of Appleton and Berkeley Streets. You will see BFIT on your right.
MBTA Green Line: Take the Green Line to Arlington Station. The entrance to Arlington Station has moved to the corner of Boylston Street and Berkeley Street until March, 2008. From the temporary entrance to the Arlington Station, walk down Berkeley Steet toward the Sound End of Boston. Berkeley Street is a one-way street, and you will be walking against traffic. Walk three blocks, and then continue across the street bridge over the Mass Pike. Walk two more blocks. The entrance to the Franklin Institure is on Berkeley Street, just past Appleton Street.
Commuter Rail: Exit at Back Bay Station and follow directions for MBTA Orange Line.
Bus: Take the #43 bus to corner of Tremont and Berkeley Streets.
