Getting to Know the Bible

Do you know some Bible stories or teachings, but don't really know how they fit together?

Do you often have the sense that you're missing a few crucial bits of information that would really help you understand what you're reading?

Do you have questions about what the Bible is and how it came to be?  Do those questions get in the way of you being able to trust what the Bible has to offer?

Have you had a few powerful experiences of reading the Bible, but suspect that there's a lot more there that you haven't yet discovered?

Would you like to move beyond the parts of the Bible with which you're familiar, but you don't know where or how to begin?

If so, perhaps this class is for you.

The Bible is a hard book to get you know.  It's unique, and can at times be somewhat bewildering.  While this class certainly won't answer all of your questions, it will offer you some knowledge, tools, and resources to bring you to a new level of familiarity with the Bible.  Our hope is that as your familiarity with the Bible grows, so will your satisfaction in studying the Bible and your ability to apply its truth to your life.

In this three-session Bible exploration, we'll cover such topics as how the Bible was formed, who wrote it, how the different parts of the Bible fit together, what the main message of different books of the Bible is, what resources you can use to find out more, how to approach a Bible study, and more.
