Printmaking/Monotypes
Printmaking, like living, is easiest if one flows with the process.
As with our evolving selves, images are created one upon the other, erasing part of the past, with traces that remain.
The printing press extends the artist’s capabilities, adding a detailed richness that complicates even the simplest compositions.
Monotypes emerge as a refreshing surprise, only partly as intended, the best better than imagined.
The artist must accept only limited control.
Grace is wonderful!
