Jim Banks
Painting
One of my interests as a painter is to study people in the act of Life.
Sometimes real, sometimes surreal;
Sometimes snapshot, sometimes posed;
Sometimes known, sometimes unknown;
But always something worth trying to capture.
And the test, the challenge, is to capture what I am seeing. Or imagining.
The art is in the seeing. The imagining.
The craft is in the execution.
Ultimately, the only important thing is painting itself. It’s a very NOW thing.
