Exercise Class: T'ai Chi for Health
T'ai Chi, practiced for centuries as an exercise consisting of movements performed slowly with smooth even transitions. A simplified routine of basic moves coordinating breath and movement will be taught designed to relax your mind and body, increase balance and concentration. No previous knowledge of Tai Chi is required.
Our approach: T'ai Chi is an exercise that has been practiced for centuries. An aim of Tai Chi is to foster a calm and peaceful mind by focusing on the precise execution of exercises. Learning to do them correctly provides a practical avenue for learning about such things as balance, alignment, and rhythm of movement. Thus the practice of Tai Chi can help to contribute to being able to better stand, walk, move, run, etc. in other spheres of life as well.
Many practitioners notice benefits in terms of correcting poor postural, alignment or movement patterns which can contribute to tension or injury. Furthermore the quiet nature of the exercises is calming and relaxing in and of itself.
