What are Student Sponsorships?
You can positively impact the life of a student right here in Greater Boston by being a part of a student’s personal support team. Our
Youth Initiatives seek to develop youth into world class leaders and getting students into college is one of the biggest steps towards this goal. Many of our students are immigrants, children of immigrants and/or the first in their family to think that college might be a reality. Student Sponsorship enables all of our students to participate in our
Project MOVE and
REACH programs, which provide enrichment and college preparation for 8-10th graders and 11th-12th graders, respectively.
Project MOVE Student Sponsorship: $2,400 one-time gift or $200 per month with a 12 month commitment. This covers a year's worth of staffing and program expenses, including contributions to a student's 529 account each semester
REACH Student Sponsorship: $2,400 one-time gift or $200 per month with a 12 month commitment. This covers staffing and program expenses, including SAT preparation through the Princeton Review and a $1,000 scholarship for all students who successfully complete REACH and enroll in a 2- or 4-year college.
How does sponsorship work?
As a new sponsor, you’ll fill out a short survey and be matched with a student with similar interests. Next, you'll receive your student’s photo, personal story and a complete student sponsorship packet. You’ll be an important part of your student’s success by being on their support and prayer team. You’ll receive periodic updates and communication with our staff and the student’s mentors on how to best support and pray for your student. You’ll also be invited to meet your student at certain events, including our annual Christmas Celebration and Graduation. Sponsoring a student will profoundly change the future of your student — and may impact your own life in the process!
What happens at the end of the year?
At the end of the year, if your student continues with either of our programs, you’ll have the opportunity to continue to sponsor your student for another year. If your student is no longer in our program or has graduated and gone off to college (yay!), you’ll have the opportunity to sponsor a new student.
How Can I Participate?
There are three ways to participate in Student Sponsorships and be a part of one student’s personal support and prayer team:
Full Sponsor: Contribute the full sponsorship amount for either a Project MOVE or REACH Student. You may contribute either through a one-time gift or commit to a monthly donation.
Giving Group: Form a Giving Group with your friends or your small group to contribute the full sponsorship amount. A Giving Group allows members to only contribute what they feel led to give, but all members still receive the same benefit of a Full Sponsor.
Partial Sponsor: Commit to a minimum monthly gift of $25 towards a Project MOVE Student Sponsorship or $50 towards a REACH Student Sponsorship and we’ll match you with other Partial Sponsors to fully fund a student.

**Please note that, while you will be matched with a specific student from either REACH or Project MOVE, as outlined here, your donation will be placed into our general operating fund and may be used to fund other students, youth programs or other Vineyard Community Offerings expenses as needed.
